When making a booking with Moray Motorhome Hire, I agree that I have thoroughly read and understood the Terms and Conditions of hire.
BOOKINGS
- Booking can be made via our website enquiry form or via Facebook messenger.
- Please provide as much information as possible, such as dates, how many people are in your party, how many names drivers you would like (up to 2) and whether you will be travelling with any dogs (maximum of 2) Bookings will be held for up to 2 days until a deposit is paid.
- A £200 deposit is required to secure your booking, paid to us by BACS (bank Transfer), details will be provided. This amount will be deducted from the remaining balance.
- If your collection date is less than 4 weeks from booking then the full balance is due.
- Once the deposit is received a confirmation email will be sent to the hirer as a receipt.
- The remaining balance is due 4 weeks prior to collection.
- There will be a damage deposit of £750, due 7 days before the commencement of hire, payable by BACS (Bank Transfer).
- The damage deposit will be fully refunded 2 days of your return date, subject to a satisfactory vehicle inspection. However if quotes need to be obtained for damage or replacement parts caused by hirer this may take up to 7 days.
CANCELLATIONS
- All cancellations must be in writing. All deposit are non-refundable, but may be transferable to another date, at our discretion. All monies due and received within 4 weeks of commencement of hire are not refundable.
- Moray Motorhome Hire reserves the right to cancel hire if at commencement of hire, either (1) the named drivers’ licences are invalid or do not comply with information previously given, or (2) the relevant paperwork requested for the insurance has not been provided or does not meet the criteria to validate the insurance.
In these circumstances the total hire charge will be forfeited.
- Hirers are advised to insure against unavoidable cancellations.
COLLECTION AND RETURNING OF VEHICLE
- Parking for your vehicle will be available at our secure storage area.
- Vehicle is available for collection at 2pm and must be returned to us by 11am on your dates of hire.
- Please allow up to 1 hour for your handover to give us the opportunity to show you round and give instructions and to answer any questions you may have.
- Times for collecting and returning the motorhome are carefully planned, it is imperative that you return your motorhome at agreed time.
- A penalty of £50 per hour is payable from your damage deposit for time between expiry of the rental agreement and the return of your vehicle (Maximum penalty is daily rental charge). Should the late return of your vehicle make us liable for extra costs (eg compensation for the next hirer), we reserve the right to pass on these costs to you.
- If a motorhome previously booked by the hirer is not available due to an accident, theft or any other reason we will try to find you a suitable alternative vehicle in its place. If this is not possible we will refund all monies paid immediately Moray Motorhome Hire will not be liable for any additional monies paid for campsites, ferry charges etc. Hirers are advised to insure against unavoidable cancellations.
PERIOD OF HIRE
- The times and dates of the contract of hire must be strictly adhered to. No refund will be given for early return of your vehicle.
DRIVING LICENCES
- No one other than the drivers named on the insurance policy can drive the hired vehicle.
- Drivers must be over 25 years and under 75 years of age and have held a full driving licence for a least 2 years.
- The drivers licence must have no more that 3 penalty points and must be produced at time of collecting the vehicle.
- Two forms of identity must be produced by all hirers at the start of the hire, in addition to full driving licences of all named drivers. (Form of identification can include 2 Utility Bills (energy bill, bank, credit card or mortgage statement or council tax statement are acceptable), dated within 90 days of the hire period and with the same address as on the driving licence)
- For international travellers other forms of identification include passport, or if that is not possible, government ID card or bank statement.
- UK drivers will be required to provide relevant information to allow Moray Motorhome Hire to complete a licence check before the commencement of hire, in the form of a code from the DVLA Website.
INSURANCE
- Fully comprehensive insurance is included within the hire charge. The vehicle is insured for the period of hire contracted only. Hirers are advised to take out additional personal holiday insurance.
A £750 excess is payable by the hirer in the event of a claim.
CLAIMS
- In the unfortunate event of an accident or damage occurring to our motorhome, you are requested to notify us immediately or at the latest 24 hours after. You must also send photographs of all damage that’s occurred to the vehicle.
- Our insurance need to be notified of any potential claim with 48 hours. We need to assess the extent of the damage and decide if we will be making a claim on the insurance. If we are not notified of all damage we will lose the right to make an insurance claim. In this instance the hirer will be liable for all damages.
- In the event of more than one claim being presented, the hirer accepts that they are liable to pay the excess amount for each and every incident.
BREAKDOWNS
- In the unlikely event of a breakdown, Moray Motorhome Hire request that they are contacted immediately and when advised to do so, the hirer seeks the help of our registered breakdown company only, quoting the registration number of the vehicle. Prior to any work being undertaken, Moray Motorhome Hire must give authorisation for any repairs to be carried out.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Please ensure that the following points are adhered to at all times during your hire period:
a) Hirers shall not carry more than 4 people as per the provision of belted seats
b) Hirers shall not have more occupants sleeping than designed for (i.e) 2 x adults and 2 children or 4 adults maximum
c) Hirers shall not use the vehicle for carrying passengers or goods for hire or reward
d) Hirers will be responsible to Moray Motorhome Hire for the cost of making good any damage caused to the vehicle
e) Hirers are responsible for any fines (including parking fines) which may be incurred during the hire period.
f) Hirers shall not remove the vehicle out of the UK mainland or Ireland.
g) Hirers understand that no claim by the hirer for loss or damage to personal belongings or effects of the hirer or any person or persons will be considered.
h) Hirers understand that any damage to the interior of the vehicle (including spillages, marks on upholstery, living or cooking equipment) will be charged to the hirer in all cases and is not insurable. Damages to tyres, windows and windscreens are also not covered by insurance and will be charged to the hirer by way of the damage deposit.
LIABILITIES
- The hirer is responsible for all costs and expenses incurred as a result of offences against the Road Traffic Act. The hirer is also liable for any uninsurable damages including tyres, windscreen and any internal damages or breakages. The hirer will indemnify Moray Motorhome Hire from any liability.
ANIMALS
- We welcome well behaved dogs in our motorhome
- Please notify us at time of booking if you’re travelling with your furry companion(s)
- There is no additional charge for your pooches
- We would recommend a maximum of two small- medium dogs The interior dimensions of the vehicle would not be suitable for accommodating any more than this
- We would appreciate if you could keep dogs off the seats and beds, any damage caused by your dog/pet will incur a charge. This will be deducted from the damage deposit.
PENALTIES
- The Cassette Toilet System must be returned to us as it was at collection. Please ensure that it has been emptied, cleaned and with the correct chemical added. Failure to comply with these instructions will incur a £50 penalty, payable from your damage deposit.
- Waste water tank must be empty prior to drop off, if not this will incur a £50 penalty payable from your damage deposit.
- Moray Motorhome Hire reserve the right to impose a £100 valet penalty if the vehicle is returned in a condition unsuitable for habitation.This will be deducted from damage deposit. Please return your motorhome in the same condition you collected it.
- A full tank of diesel is in the vehicle upon collection – you must return with the same amount. If the vehicle is returned short of diesel, time for refuelling and cost of fuel is chargeable
- Smoking is strictly prohibited in our motorhome and if the hirer is suspected to have been smoking in the vehicle, a £250 penalty will be applied. This will be deducted from damage deposit.
- Hirers agree that should they arise they will pay necessary penalties, parking and driving offences and the insurance excess payable.
- We also reserve the right to charge for loss of hire due to repairs caused during your hire, at £150 per day, to be taken from the deposit. Please also note that if we have to obtain quotes for damage caused to the vehicle during your hire period, your damage deposit may be delayed.
- Minimum hire period is 3 days, unless otherwise agreed.
- Please ensure mattresses are covered at all time; failure to do so may result in a dry cleaning charge.
